I watched Vantage Point on Saturday. When I went inside the theater, I was expecting the old, “Oh no, they’ve shot the president let’s get those darn terrorists” type of thing, but I found something different. I have to say that it is a suspense and a thriller, and although it has some of the old “Prez Assassinated” stuff, it has is with a turn. The story is unfolded through different points of view (title: Vantage Point). Each point of view reveals something new about the assassination, like a new clue as to who the killer might be. I will stop there, to not revea anything for those who have not watched it. The speciall effects are all right, nothing too fancy but nothing too bland. The movie takes place is Spain so there’s some spoken Spanish audio. Be prepared to read subtitles.
Overall, in color, the movie is always very bright. There are few dark scenes, as opposed to Sweeney Todd.
I was surprised to see the number of foreign actors in this movie. I recognized about four from Spanish soap operas, and others.
Like all action movies, there’s a high speed car chase. The chase lasted too long, for my taste and it was a little too fast. I was getting dizzy from watching it. I aso didnt; like the fact that the only political message, about censure, lasted for ten minutes tops.
Overall, I liked the movie. I’d recommend to anyone who liked Deja Vu.
