Elves were thought to be non native to Agarithia. It is thought that they came to Agarithia through the Meekhrshun and settled there. For three centuries, the Elves remained relatively clam and unnoticed. The Elves lived in the safety of the forest and performed very little trade. Then, one day, without any previous incidents of violence, a huge Elven army swept across the Meekhrshun and took over most of Agarithia. In less that three months, more than 80% of Agarithia was under their control. They only area left out of their empire were the Wildlands. They remain the only culture to have fully controlled the Golden Desert.
During their reign, the Elves brought their culture to their new territories. They brought their love of knowledge and their fervent astrological religion to the Humans. They build grand buildings: palaces, temples, and academies all over Agarithia. Some of them, still stand today. The Elves’ loved what is now the Yellow Nation for its clear view of the heavens. It was during this time that the reace of the Eretis was born. For seven centuries, the Elves maintained control of their Empire. Few revolts took place, and those few were crushed quickly.
The Elves are the original wizards and magicians. Through their intense studies of the cosmos and their enviroment, they began to develop the ability to bend the energy around them. Their abilities were passed on genetically. This gave them a huge advantage over the Humans.
The Elven culture revolves mainly around the stars. Their gods are stars and they have huge influence over Agarithia. The gods are represented as giant elves that are usually dressed in the finest silk and hold symbols of the deity. Their ceremonies are highly ritualistic, but include no sacrifices.
Elves married for life and they could only produce two children. Because of this, their population growed slower that the Human population. Children began their eduction at a very young age. THe fittest ones were picked out and taken to a military academy.
The Elves became extinct in Agarithia after the Cleansing. Humans, whose population has overun the Elven one, rebelled and won. Every Elf, regardless of age, class, power, or abilities was killed. With time the Elven rule was gradually forgotten. Today, the only things that testify to the once glorious Elven empire are the ruins of their magnificent buildings, and their hybrid children, the Eretis.
